Episode 7 [aired 10/5/11] - We begin this “Best of Season 4” episode by featuring the history of the Village of Dixmoor. After this informational package, our “Artist Spotlight” features black and white wall art created by Alison Svoboda. You may also remember SSC student Luis Orozco, and how he organizes his commitments on and off the soccer field. Be sure not to miss the music video showcasing the work of Ann Latinovich and her photographs that were displayed on campus. Then, Michael Cierski returns in our “Alumni Story” to chat about his success since graduating from SSC. Finally, take a look at our “SSC Events Recap”.
Episode 6 [aired 8/16/11] - In this episode, we go behind-the-scenes with Betty Owens, who has appeared in many local commercials and stage performances throughout the years... You won't believe some of the characters she's played! Stay tuned and enjoy a music video featuring photographs by Randy Michael Korwin from his 'NiteLite' collection. Then, take a look at some of the ways Team SSC chose to support 'Paws in the Park' hosted by the Humane Society Calumet Area. Next, Keiko Nemeth uses many bright colors in her abstract art for her show 'FULCRUM: Inception > < Expression'. She recalls experiences from her past to create her work in this "Artist Spotlight". Episode 5 [aired 6/6/11] - America's veterans deserve the very best treatment when they come home. In our first package, Alvin Fields - an SSC student - reminisces upon his time in the military, and how veterans can take advantage of the benefits offered at educational institutions. Next, bob your head to a hip-hop beat as still-life paintings (containing images of various natural elements) are exposed from the mind of Elsa Muñoz in her gallery 'Sublime Nature'. Then, in our "Alumni Story"; Michael Cierski talks about the importance of passing forth the lit torch of knowledge in the realm of music education. Our "Artist Spotlight" features the striking self-portraits of Lisa Stefaniak - who took part in a 365-day photo project. She discusses how each image whole-heartedly captivated the way she felt day-to-day. Finally, sneak a peek at some of the events that recently took place at SSC. We even feature a snippet from graduation that was held May 15th, 2011!
Episode 4 [aired 4/11/11] - On this episode, we reminisce upon the life of Smith V. Brand - former director and instructor at South Suburban College. Many of his former friends, students, and co-workers discuss the impact he made on their lives. Stick around and be soothed by a music video titled, "Fresh" featuring images of beautiful plant-life taken by photographer Ann Latinovich. Ever wondered how SSC’s show "Daily Delivery" is created? If so, this package may spark your interest. Then, our "Artist Spotlight" focuses on the work of Bonnie Zimmer whose use of natural material led to the creation of "About Place." Stick around and jam to the urban tune of a music video featuring the artwork of Shari Pettis from her show, "PUSH ALL BUTTONS". Ever been interested in learning about the history of your village or town? If so, the segment about the Village of Dixmoor may stimulate your interest. Then, our "Artist Spotlight" features paintings and remarks from Melissa Washburn. Her exhibit, "Extraordinary Creatures" explores her emotional journey through the contradictions of motherhood.
