Love Yourself: Mini Health Fair and Voter Registration Drive This dual event will be held on Tuesday, February 14th from 12 noon - 2:00 p.m. in the Kindig Performing Arts Center. Cheryl Klemp, M.A.Ed., DNP, R.N., will feature a health care disparities lecture on Growing Healthy Communities: Social Determinants, Behavior, and Health. This lecture will feature blood pressure checks, breast cancer screening, diabetes information, sickle cell anemia information, STD/AIDS information, prostate health information, chair massages, BMI index, and strength gain and body measurements by Red Palmz, Inc. A Tribute to the Legendary Lady Singers of Jazz Rhythm and Blues This event sponsored by the SSC Office of Student Life and Leadership, SSC Music Department, and United Parcel Service, will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at 12 noon - 2:00 p.m. in the Kindig Performing Arts Center. Students, Faculty and Staff are invited to listen to a six piece jazz group perform many hit songs to celebrate Black History Month.
Lawmen and Black Cowboys in the Wild West This special lecture is sponsored by the SSC Office of Student Life and Leadership, SSC Adult Education Department and the SSC Book Club, and will be held on Tuesday, February 28th from 12 noon - 1:30 p.m. in the Kindig Performing Arts Center. Mr. Burton will lecture and answer questions about his book, and the history of African-Americans in the Wild West. Also, special guest Cowboy Perry will show skills used by cowboys in the Wild West.
