NAS 100Nursing Assistant Training Program (6,18)
This 8-week course is designed to prepare students to assist in caring for patients and to be effective members of the nursing team under the supervision of the registered nurse and licensed practical nurse. This course provides instruction in basic nursing skills through lecture, campus laboratory and supervised clinical experiences in a long term care facility. Upon successful completion of the program the student is eligible to take the Illinois Nursing Assistant Training Competency Exam. (Exam fee). The Basic Nursing Training Program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public health. Students spend 18 hours per week in class, laboratory and clinical. Fee. F, Sp, S
