South Suburban College
grad hat

Each semester, South Suburban College recognizes students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence by naming them to the Dean's List. A select few of these students are named President's Scholars.

RecognitionAll students who are named to the Dean's List receive a congratulatory letter from the President.

Qualifications To be named to the Dean's List, full-time students must have a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) calculated on at least 12 semester hours of 100-level work or above, while part-time students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA of the credit hours earned in the given semester and have completed at least 12 semester hours of prior course work of 100-level or above. Both full and part-time students must be in "good standing" at the College.

To be named a President's Scholar, full-time and part-time students must have earned a 4.0 GPA over two consecutive semesters on a minimum 24 hours of college credit of 100-level or above course work.

ApplicationThere is no formal application process for being named to the Dean's List or for becoming a President's Scholar. At the end of each semester, Dean's List students are notified; at the end of the Spring semester, President's Scholars are notified.
