ACT Center

Through the ACT Center at South Suburban College an individual can access many high-quality, computer-based courses provided by the most popular vendors. If the course is web-based it can be accessed over the Internet and if it is server-based it can be taken at our state-of-art training facility at the Business & Career Institute in South Holland, Illinois.

Partnership with ACT

The ACT Center at the Business & Career Institute of South Suburban College is a full-service testing and training facility that is part of a nationwide network of distance learning centers created by ACT, Inc. This Partnership between SSC and ACT allows for the delivery of a broad range of high quality courses via state-of-the-art technology to the community businesses and general public. Many of the nation's best-known electronic courseware publishers will provide the latest and most requested programs.

ACT Courseware

Courses are offered over the Internet or through the ACT Center network at South Suburban College. There is a dynamic list of courses available in seven categories that will be updated as new offerings are made available.

The ACT Center will have a range of assessments that include Work Keys and also certification and licensure for large, nationwide, professional organizations and smaller local programs.

Employers who use the ACT Center will have an advantage over competitors by providing their workforce with high-tech training that can be held locally or on-site. Training through the SSC ACT Center will cost less overall because each person can be assessed as to what modules are necessary depending on his/her own current skills level and only be charged for what is needed. Employees will be trained in a consistent manner and at their own level. There is no minimum number of attendees required. A majority of the courses include some form of pre and post assessment.
