This course teaches students the essential steps of Web site design from
deciding design strategies to incorporating interactive elements. Students
will have instruction and hands-on computer lab exercises to help them
learn the importance of the following aspects of Web site design: site navigation,
layout, type, Web graphics, animation, and interactive elements.
This course includes case studies to help students solidify the design concepts
with practical application.

Prerequisite: Solid Knowledge of HTML or HTML Programming course.

Experience with Netscape or Internet Explorer or the Mastering the Net with Netscape and Internet Explorer course
This course focuses on the skills required to design and publish Web documents. Students create a Web site using basic hypertext mark-up language (HTML) tags and convert existing documents to HTML. Students also generate links and use the advanced HTML features such as tables, images, and frames. Additionally, the class provides practice creating HTML forms and accessing Common Gateway Interface (CGI) scripts such as PERL and BASIC.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Windows or equivalent knowledge

Students will work with Web site creation features available in Dreamweaver, and
will utilize many of the new features available within the HTML 4 standard. You
will use libraries and layers to build websites that include behaviors, animations
and style sheets.

Students will learn how to create and manage Webs (World Wide Web publications) using Microsoft FrontPage 2000. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to perceive the overall structure of a web, use the three major components of FrontPage: the Explorer, the Editor and the Personal Web Server, create links between and within the Web pages, create links to the World Wide Web and incorporate the principles of good Web design.

CD-ROM? Chances are, the images were produced using Adobe PhotoShop software. PhotoShop is used to create, retouch, and enhance images for virtually every medium—from print to the World Wide Web. Learn Web image preparation, choosing colors, Web graphics, file formats and batch processing in this introductory class.

Create a flash introduction to your Web site! Learn how to use Macromedia’s Flash 5 software to create animations for cartoons or business presentations. Instruction covers how to use Flash 5 tools to create artwork, animate, and add sound, as well as how to save and upload files to a server. This course does not require prior programming knowledge.
