SOUTH HOLLAND, IL South Suburban College will host four upcoming Open Houses for anyone interested in learning more about select SSC programs or meeting with college recruiters. Two of the Open Houses will take place at the Main Campus in South Holland, and the other two will be held at the University & College Center in Oak Forest. The Open House schedule is as follows:
Court Reporting/Verbatim Technology Program Open House
Thursday, July 26, 7:00 p.m. 8:30 p.m.

The SSC Court Reporting/Verbatim Technology Program is fully accredited by the National Court Reporters Association. This Open House will offer information about a comprehensive career education program that can lead to an exciting, high paying career. Reporters are in high demand and may work in areas such as judicial reporting, broadcast captioning, steno interpreting and web casting. In addition to the excellent earnings, court reporters have opportunities for travel, exposure to high-profile cases, and self-employment. Paralegal Program Open House

The Paralegal Open House is targeted for individuals interested in learning about one of the nation's fastest-growing occupations. SSC has the only ABA approved paralegal program in the south suburban Chicago area, giving graduates a huge advantage when entering the workplace. The college also requires that all of the instructors in the program are lawyers or judges to ensure the quality of instruction. The curriculum prepares students to work in a variety of legal environments including civil and criminal litigation, insurance, banking, public and governmental agencies, law offices and corporate legal departments. The deadline to apply for Financial Aid for this fall at SSC is August 14, 2012. SSC must have an official high school or GED transcript on file for those who plan to use Financial Aid. In order for a transcript to be deemed "official" it must be received in a sealed envelope and include the school seal and graduation date.
