Education:

• Received my Bachelor’s of Science degree from Rush University and my Master’s of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a concentration in Psychiatric/Medical-Surgical Nursing. I have worked twenty-one years in the field of nursing in various capacities. My experiences have been consistently in psychiatric nursing, both in outpatient/inpatient settings. I received my state certification (Type 73) in School Nursing and worked as a school nurse in the Chicago Public School system for four years. For the past eight years, I have worked in the area of Nursing education; beginning as a nursing instructor at one of the City Colleges of Chicago, received tenure and was later elected as Chairperson of the nursing department. I accepted the position of Academic Dean at Kutsch College of Nursing (formerly Ravenswood Nursing School) following my tenure at City Colleges. Prior to accepting my current position at South Suburban College, I worked for NCS Pearson as a NCLEX Content Developer serving to facilitate workshops to train individuals in test item writing and item reviews for the nursing board exams.

• Fundamentals of Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and Perspectives in Nursing.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Nursing Assistant Training Program, Practical Nursing Program and the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
