UPDATE The threat of violence on Tuesday, April 15th at South Suburban College was delivered in a written format posted on campus. The threat was non-specific to any individual, or in terms of how it would be carried out. South Suburban College’s decision to close the building was a precaution to ensure that the college is doing everything we can to guarantee the safety of our students and staff first and foremost. Investigators have identified several persons of interest at this time. We will provide more information when it becomes available. South Suburban College will resume classes on Thursday, April 17th. MESSAGE - COLLEGE CLOSED South Suburban College received information on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 threatening violence on our campus. We have conducted a search of the building and are continuing to investigate the threat with the help of local and federal authorities. SSC's main campus, Business & Career Institute, and University & College Center are closed. They will remain closed through Wednesday, April 16th, and will reopen on Thursday morning, April 17th. More information will be provided when it becomes available. |
