Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of the two-year college and is open to scholars of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, economic levels and fields of study. By promoting a bond of excellence, Phi Theta Kappa offers educational opportunities which foster the development of leadership and responsible citizenship. Psi Pi, the SSC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, is a student organization, chartered to promote fellowship, scholarship, leadership and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a cumulative SSC GPA of 3.5 on at least 12 semester hours credit earned in 100-level courses or above. In addition, applicants must complete a member profile form and submit a modest membership fee. Eligible students are encouraged to participate in the orientation and induction ceremonies.

To retain membership in Phi Theta Kappa, members must maintain a 3.25 GPA.a

ApplicationApplication forms are available (PDF*) from Sept. 1 - Oct. 15 and from Feb. 1 - Mar. 15. They may be obtained over the Internet or in Room 3140, the Honors/Phi Theta Kappa Center (Room 4255), or from the Faculty Advisor of Phi Theta Kappa. The deadline for fall applicants is Oct. 15; for spring applicants, March 15.
